I cannot believe how fast it went from spring to summer – time seemed to go in slow motion, then suddenly it’s hitting 80 – even 90 degrees – and time has been clicking away! I wish I had a good excuse of why my blog has gone quiet, but I don’t have a good one … just that Summer’s here and me and my camera have been super busy clickin’!

Also my second installment as La Jardiner de la Mer (The Sea Gardener) is out! In this edition I write about Monet and Giverny, and how to create your own garden paradise at home using some of Monet’s color and garden principles! I loved photographing and writing this piece so much, since I use many of the same elements in my own garden.

And speaking about gardens … The Man and I took a trip to Boothbay Harbor, Maine and spent hours walking (and of course photographing) the Botanical Gardens. They are so lovely and designed with native plants … I will be sharing more photographs of that visit later this week!

This August the Maine Cooperative Extension has coordinated a Locavore Tour of TWELVE local, rockstar gardens! I was super lucky that many of the gardeners were willing to let me come in, speak with me and photograph their gardens! Check back soon for a sneak peak and to find out what the Locavore movement is all about!

Over the past week The Man and I were on vacation, and stayed in Maine since summers in Maine are simply stunning! We spent the Fourth of July with friends and family … and when it began to rain, had to take a little detour inside!
